Melissa J. Freeman learned about weight lifting from the best, her dad, Gary Allen. Mr. Allen read all he could about weightlifting and nutrition. He obtained his personal training certificate and set a gym up in their garage. He encouraged his family to eat well by making turkey burgers and replacing movie night treats with fruit trays and yogurt. Melissa went on to do cheerleading, dance and play basketball. She made All-American in Dance at a competition in San Antonio, Texas and was offered a spot to dance at the halftime show in the Orange Bowl. Then life happened...marriage, college and kids! Finding herself inactive and fluffy, she decided to take back over who she was. Working full time as a special education teacher, being a mom and a wife, there was little time for her. To vent and release tension, the gym became her escape. Melissa has competed as a bikini NPC competitor, placing 2nd overall in her first competition in the women's open 19-34 age bracket. She went on to compete in the figure division of body building. Her journey is just beginning!
Craig Freeman, Jr. is a lifetime athlete. From the age of 8, he played baseball, football, lifted weights and wrestled. He was part of the 1997 State Football Championship team from Ogemaw Heights High School Class BB. Craig and friends would compete in weight lifting competitions on weekends in Pontiac, MI. just for fun. Craig now coaches his sons' baseball teams and still enjoys sports; just from a different viewpoint! He continues to be passionate about athleticism and helping kids reach their full potential.
